Peace!  I interviewed Wale (from D.C.) recently and we talked about our struggles when dealing with what comes with"Success." I suppose its, "More money, More problems," except for the fact that I don't have a lot of money.  I think what Biggie meant was...with success comes issues. I'VE NEVER USED THE WORD HATER SO MUCH.  Last year was the year of the "hate" and this year is the year of the "great." I take it...these commenter's and readers, as well as the supporters are familiar with my pieces and couldn't possibly base my journalistic skills off of a blog.

What is a blog? Is a blogger equivalent to a journalist? Can I take a portfolio full of blogs to The Source and ask for a job? Never. Blogs are not clips.  The people who make it their duty to leave reckless comments and post obscene shit, from their daily frustrations aren't worth convincing because they've already picked a side.  They are against me...like the people who are against rocking furs.  I'm sure that there are artists who look online and watch what "Internet Thugs" are saying to their work and saying to themselves, "Wtf is this?" At the same time they sell 1 million copies and it's hard as hell to digest that there is so many people out there who are against you- yet so many who are for you.  The more fans/supporters, the more non-supporters.  It's part of the game.  "Friend or Foe you all my Muthafuckas..." 

I don't want to list my accomplishments in the last 22 years but I will say this- I've done a hell of a job. Not to say that you haven't, but I'm excited about MY future.  As Wale would say, "I'm trying to stay humble."  It's a struggle out here.  Sidenote: For all you future successors...watch out for what comes with it. Your family will act different, your best friends will compete with you and you'll find yourself diggin' new people, that dig you. Things will change.  People think you're "cool" as long as both of you are on the same level.

When you have people taking shots at you all day...what more can you say or do? I've noticed, when I post something about Kanye West, Tony Williams or G.O.O.D. Music there are an average of (about) 15 comments.  Most of them are rude and salty-ish or about how I'm a groupie, a fan, a stan, etc. I post the same blog about Jill Scott or Camp Lo and I get a different response.  You people say the darndest things. Why are you salty or mad that I'm at a Kanye show or at his birthday party or I'm in the studio with him? Nobody ever says shit when I'm with other people or write a blog about interviewing Primo, 9th and Pete Rock or chillin' with legends...they just comment on the Ye shit. I wonder why. 

Another thing I don't understand is why do people care so much? When was the last time you read one of my stories? Did you grow up with me? Because you really care-A LOT. Why?  Should I not post the pics of me in Las Vegas with some of the most influential people in world?  Should I not tell people I've been working on obtaining my degree?  Should I not be excited to be a college student while traveling and meeting the people who've paid the way for me? I'm excited for the time being, but why aren't you? I'm young, black and almost famous...staying connected to the ground and this is the response? :0) Un-fuckin-believable.

The same people complaining are the same people following my shit.  I feel like Jay-Z around this bitch.  Damn. What do you want?  Anyway,  American Gangsta was a dope record and "Success," is one of my favorite songs off the album.  Peep the lyrics:

I've noticed, that when I wasn't doing anything and complaining about life- everybody was in my corner. The whole world believed in me. Now that I'm attempting to do something...people are coming out of the wood...tackling me...like I'm Brett Favre. Shout Out to the Packers....:0) Wisconsin is in the building. But, its crazy.  What have I done to you?  Lol. Smh.  Stephen Berrios, Wale and DJ Nick also deserve to be shouted out, for discussing this topic with me and exploring both sides- the insecure and the progressive. Shout out to Phonte for letting it be known that people will "feed the pigeons and shoot the eagles." Ain't that some shit?

All in all...please stay doing you and I'll do me. I will continue to "alter popular perception" through exposing the other side of the fortune and fame through posting pics of superstars who are really regular people...I'll continue to search for blazing artist and I'll continue to write my blogs and approach topics that I want to talk about. BTW, Do me a favor and listen to Jay-Z...

P.S. I would appreciate if you guys would join me in my progression...because fightin' it will only kill you. I don't want suicidal readers. HipHopDX's blog has been an outlet for me to express myself.  Why am I being hassled? Lol.  Remember, I love ya'll like, KRS-ONE loves Hip Hop. I do this for the people...the people with dreams, to show them that anything is possible.  One day it'll all make sense.  I think I've reached my tipping point. PEACE!
