I promise this will be my LAST blog post on Don Imus (maybe).
So it looks like the hip hop community had its chance to speak out about the situation and in a sense defend hip hop as we all KNEW it would be blamed for such ignorant comments.
The other day on Oprah (yea I watched Oprah, fuck off haha) Russell Simmons, Kevin Liles and Common were guests. As much as I enjoyed their views, I would’ve liked Oprah to grow some balls and ask some rappers who are actually speaking about degrading woman and such. Can I get a Luda? Or a Snoop?
But … the guests we’re chosen and the hip hop community had its chance to speak….
Ok ... I'm all for the termination of Imus and wouldn't look the other way if he caught a fist to the chin. His remarks we're ignorant and uncalled for. We all know that.
But after viewing this video, I'm sort of thinking we have a huge double standard on our hands.
Now I'm not wanting to turn this into black vs. white. But why do we have to do this? Why are people so quick to put blame on the color of someone's fucking skin? The government fucked up. Did the whole "white" race fuck up? NO!
