Barack NEEDS to win

As we're on the eve of the end of this historical presidential race, I'm glad that its finally almost over cause CNN had taken over my life completely. It has taken everyone a trip which made us see how biased, ignorant, hopeful, scared, frustrated and angry ALL americans can be on issues. It brought alot of people together but still has divided us as well. For the longest I never paid attention to politics or politicians and I always found it hard to place my faith into a system that never gave a damn about what was going on with the people or the area where I lived. A system who has been known to overlook those 'without' and continue to shine its face on those who 'have'. It felt like the "American Dream" only applied to some and the others just had to fall somewhere in between the American Status Quo. My dad and all my uncles always use to tell us how the white man will never let us go too far up the ladder.

But then came Barack Obama who I first remember hearing everybody talking about back when I was in High School in Chicago. I have watched this man go on to inspire not just minorities but an entire nation to believe that anything is possible. I've seen some of the most bitter people I've known in my life who never believed as a minority you have a chance to achieve anything greater outside of sports rethink that assertion. And actually believe that we can actually reach the stars instead of just reach for them.

I'm not voting for Obama cause he's 'black' but more so what he stands for, who he's fighting for, what he represents, who his policies are directed towards and what he means to the people. Do I think he's gonna solve the worlds problems? HELL NO. I just believe he is motivating alot of different people and thats what this country needs. Mccain hadnt even mentioned a word about the middle class til just now, never really tried to seperate himself from bush til now and when i see his crowds I never see various types of races. And his campaign consisted of basically throwing as much as they can at Obama.

Everything they've thrown at him hasn't stuck for a reason. They've labeled him a "Black" candidate when he's mixed, they accused him of not being a christian but even if he wasnt so what, is it against the law to be muslim in america? They said his pastor is racist/hates america which they tried to put on him when to be honest I've probably heard worse and if anyone has been to a Baptist church recently you probably didnt flinch when you seen Rev. Wright made those comments. They accused him of being a socialist when the US just bought up alot of the major banks during the financial crisis. They accused him of being a redistributionist when we've been doing that for the rich for years allowing the wealthy tax cuts when the middle class has been struggling. They tried to call him a radical and said he "pals" around with terrorist when the dumbest poltician Sarah Palin "pals" around with secessionist and if that aint anti-american I dont know what the hell is.

Point blank Obama is what America has always been and stood for. America isnt a country built from naturally born Americans (unless you're native American), America is a country of immigrants and NO ONE is pure blood anything. American isnt perfect, we're the home to patriots the same way we are the home to student shootings, murderers, racists, pedophiles, convicts and an array of others. But we've always stood for hope and the pursuit of happiness and the acceptance of others no matter who they are or where they come from. So on tuesday vote for whoever you want to, not cause Diddy said so in his spinning video blog or cause Jay did a free show. Vote for what matters to you.

Next week I'll be back on my Hip Hop stuff

The American Molding Machine

Today as I watched the full video of the Q&A session with Rev. Wright (he ethered the shit out of that troll lookin ass chick asking the questions) and then minutes later hearing that Obama had denounced what he was saying I came to the realization that America has and is a molding machine. In order to be apart of what is considered mainstream America, this dillusional-always thinking its right and never in the wrong-America, you have to be groomed and must maintain that look.

Maybe its possible Obama seperated himself in order to help win the next primary and get the nomination but the more and more he campaigns the more its like he has to fit in this mold. Its kinda like when your homeboy get a nice ass job. You know he cant come in as is, he has to talk a certain way, dress a certain way and he knows if he slips up in any sort of way his ass will be out before he can get a chance to defend himself.

He's been under more criticism than anyone else and under circumstances which pale in comparison to the other candidates. Whites were scared to vote for him because his name was muslim, then they were wondering if they should trust him cause his middle name is Hussein (how f*cking absurd is it to judge someone based off their middle name), then they were upset cause they thought he was linked to Louis Farrakahn, then they crucified him based off stuff his pastor said. Aside from his comment about being 'Biter' everything else was some bullshit they attached to him as opposed to what he's done.

No one made a huge deal about Hillary lying, she turned and said 'i lied...shit happens' and people brushed it off. No one brought up her scandal with Peter Paul contributions. No one gave two shits about Mccain banging some other chick or his temper tantrums.

Obama couldnt even say anything definite about the Sean Bell trial cause if he would have sided with it being an injustice he would have been saying something that would be viewed as 'too black'. Honestly even though I voted for Obama and I would hope that someone else wins cause Bush fucked shit up so much that the next candidate is gonna have too much to deal with and unless they have a unbelievably good term, it would be looked at as failure on their part and not on what Bush set them up with.

Hopefully Obama and any other African Americans attempting to conquer the corporate world see that in order to get there you have to be more less a chameleon. Mad respect to Rev. Wright for defending the Black Church and people like Michael Eric Dyson, Tavis Smiley, Cornel West and even Al Sharpton for speaking out on the issues that effect us everyday and being straight forward.
