Pulled My Last Shit....

So I had a blog entry up this mornin for bout an hour or so...Had to pull it down...It was about a free show Microsoft/Zune gave in the park in LA today...Had to pull it down because in order to give a free show in a park in LA you can't advertise it....I know, it fucked me up too...Anyway, it was part 1 of a 3-part series of concerts they're doin' called Live at the BBQ...UGK, David Banner, Collie Buds, E-40 and Common...Nice weather, free BBQ and free hip-hop....Shit was real tight..Not bad, Zune....Props to Jamaal, Damien and Omid...If you made it out,  lemme know what u thought...Next up is Chicago, followed by NY and all three shows have totally different lineups so if you aint crazy bout my group or the others that played LA, you might like the artists on the next 2... Sharks In The Water

So I'm in Indianapolis right..Just did a show last night with Big Mike, Devin The Dude, Bushwick Bil, and Scarface...Great crowd..So I check in my hotel and I see a lotta war vets in the buildin'...Most r in wheelchairs so I guess WWI...I peep a hat and see they r from the USS Indianapolis...For those who slept through history(like me), or those who never saw Jaws(not me), there is a story...These guys on this US battlteship brought the components for an atomic bomb that fucked up Japan aboard their ship to like Japan or some shit...Anyway, on the way back, their ship got torpedoed and sank, taking 300+ down with it..There were like 1100 onboard, so the other 800 sat bobbin in the ocean for like 4 days...If they didn't die of starvation or dehydration, the sharks ate they ass..

So to the next generations of mc's, I say to you...You may have the components to creep in the game real quick and drop a bomb, but don't be surprised if on the way home, shit doesn't blow up in ya face...cuz if you're NOT lucky and die quickly in a critical blast,  or the labels don't starve yo ass, or promoters and management doesn't drain you, the sharks Will get that ass....

Shout out to my hip-hop survivors and the survivors of the USS Indianapolis!

Ringtones....

Yo, lately I hear a lotta talk about the state of rap/hiphop...People don't like the music that's sellin all the ringtones....Too much dancin' and shit on the radio and TV...Everybody got a right to like what they wanna so I aint trippin there..But if you want change in music, don't just ask for it...Insist on it.....Demand it from labels and radio...Demand it from artists.....Start a boycott(that shit works, right Al?)....Or if u want you can make the music ya damn self....But don't just talk, cuz its too much of that already...

Nobody said everybody was supposed to like the same shit...World don't work like dat partna....But even I can admit shit is gettin onesided...Not regionally but tonally(google it)...I like the leveling of the playing field, now lets level the players....Just so you know, dance music(dance rap included) aint goin nowhere so live wit it....we've always had it and always will..we did the James Brown(Casanova Rud), the PeeWee Herman(Joeski Love) and the butt(E.U.) and we gone keep doin shit...But the rest of the artists out there who don't make dance or club music, step it up....The odds are against you right now, cuz you don't fit "radio format"....you gotta make more viral videos, more mixtapes, and force more TRUTH down they throat...start a street campaign(shit aint hard)....Mobilize muthafuckers where u at....Just do more than talk...

And to all my DJ's out there that don't like spinnin dance rap, don't....Stick to your morals if that's the case...If you work at a station and it's on your playlist and you don't wanna play it, don't...You can always quit....If you spin at a club and don't wanna play certain songs you don't respect even though the crowd wanna hear it, don't...Find another club or start a podcast....But don't play it and then talk shit or hate on the cats on the cool later...KEEP IT TRILL...Quit smilin in their face when they come to ya station or club and talkin shit when they leave..Man Up...If you buy someone's record, you have the right to tell them if you liked it or not, and the right to demand better...You do it wit food, do it with music...

They say it takes a village...Let's see where hip-hop's villagers are.....

A Bun B Blog... Who Gives A Fuck??? Me, Dats Who!

Well this is a Bun B blog...Wasn't sure bout this shit but somebody gotta do it...Start it off right......UGK 4 LIfe...That's for the haters....New album in stores August 7, UNDERGROUND KINGZ on Jive Records..More on Jive later..Double album....Might let one or two exclusives go on here in the future!

Why am I bloggin? No fuckin idea...Just peep and we'll see what happens...Did the Hip Hop For HIV show this weekend...Community initiative to educate the youth...We tested for tickets...Couldn't get in without going to a test site, get swabbed for DNA, and getting tested..They put 7500 tickets up and sold out the venue...Great move for the community but needs to go from city to city for real..Much love to KBXX 97.9 The Box in H Town, Terri Thomas and Rep. Boris Miles for givin a fuck..Lil Wayne, David Banner, Lil' Keke, Kelly Rowland  and Brooke Valentine all rocked for the people...I did a lil somethin...The homie Mike Jones rocked a few on my set....This HIV/AIDS shit is killin people at alarming rates, especially minorites and people ages 15-30....protect yo shit!

Shout out to Chace....I'm working this blog shit out so bear wit a nigga....Shout to Crooked on the hip hop weekly!
