Title:Hope+Faith=Patience
God loves you. You know how I know? I know because he blessed you with the one attribute that is needed to succeed on this planet. That attribute ladies and ghettomen is patience. A person without patience is like Grand Hustle without T.I., Beyonce without a vagina and Chick fil A without chicken. A person with no patience serves no purpose, why? What ever that man or woman's purpose is, he or she will never reach it because they lack patience. A person without patience wants everything instantly but that's not the way God designs things. Anything that's worth having on this planet requires a lot of patience to receive. 


Patience to me is what keeps me from pistol whipping random people whenever I get stressed out. I'm typing this all the while thinking the first is tomorrow, and I have so many muthafucking bills. Verizon is sending me text messages that read, "To avoid interruption hit send", my newborn starts daycare tomorrow and they want the tuition for the month upfront, rent is due, I have to pay my AFTRA Healthcare premium, got to throw my moms some money and I owe Julia Beverly, Editor In Chief of Ozone $1,200.  But guess what, I'm okay because I have patience. Patience to me is basically having faith in your creator that everything is going to be alright. That everything is going to work itself out.  


For example, I flew to LA week before last, booked my tickets on cheapair.com because they always have great rates, you just have to make sure all your info is correct because they don't refund or give you any type of credit. I booked my flight to leave on a Saturday and fly back at 6:00 AM Wednesday morning West Coast time because I had to tape something with BET @ 5:30 PM East Coast time. Well something came up in NY to where I had to stay in town on Saturday so I just booked a one way for Sunday morning and would just fly back on the Wednesday morning flight I had previously booked. Well, I had no idea that because I didn't use the first half of my ticket and fly out that Saturday cheapair.com canceled the whole god damn ticket! Guess when I found out? 5:00 AM Wednesday morning when I'm trying to check in and don't have no reservation. 


At first I got a little amped with the airline representatives because I am trying to figure out how they could just cancel something I paid for? I just breathed in, said a quick prayer and listened to that voice in my head that said have patience my son. The airline representative told me I would have to purchase a one way to get back to NY and there were still seats available on the 6:00 AM flight. Are yall paying attention? It is 5:15 AM West Coast Time, the flight leaves at 6:00 AM and I'm about to purchase a one way ticket. I imagined myself unbuckling my belt, dropping my SDM jeans and turning around because I knew Delta was about to fuck me so good. 


What could I do? I was at the mercy of the airline. $600 some odd dollars for a one way ticket? Now to everyone reading this, let the record show that I only had my Chase Debit Master Card on me and on this card I had $330 dollars. At this point your are saying to yourself this story only gets worse, but not to me because I have patience, patience allows me to be still long enough to realize everything was going to work itself out. I handed her my card knowing it was about to be declined. She swiped my card and guess what? It went through.


God loves me. A man with no patience wouldn't have been able to make that situation work. A man with no patience would have been frustrated and angry and his energy would have been so bad that he would have attracted nothing but negativity.  That negative energy would have prevented his creator from putting a hand in the situation, therefore, causing his card to decline.


Needless to say, I got back to NY in time to tape for the BET show and all was right with the world. Yeah my Chase Debit Master Card was in the red a few hundred dollars but I got paid that Friday so it worked itself out. The mathematic equation for patience is Hope + Faith = Patience. You should always Hope for the best and always have Faith in yourself and your creator that you will be put in a position to win. That is all patience is. Every artist that's in this issue is hoping that they make it to that next level of the game, they have faith that their talent is good enough to get them to that next level and they should have faith that their creator does have a blessing with there name on it. God has never put me in a position to lose. Even when I think I'm losing I'm really winning because I'm gaining valuable experience and insight while going through whatever I'm going through. Have you heard the old saying that "what doesn't kill you can only make you stronger? Well lack of patience can contribute to that death as well because it's patience that allows you to stay strong in the first place. 


What do you think kept the great Nelson Mandela strong during those 27 years he spent in prison? Hope + Faith = Patience. Patience is what is going to get all of us through this rough economic period and please my brothers don't do anything drastic like go back to the drug game. Trust me, I know when you evolve out of it and things get rough the first thing you want to do is resort back to it. You know how many times in the past 60 days I have thought about flooding the streets of my hometown Moncks Corner, SC with weed? I try to justify it in my mind like selling crack is wack because crack kills, it destroys communities, but weed everybody loves weed. Weed never killed anybody! 


Then I hear two voices in my head. One is Young Jeezey saying "I'm going back to jail that's what my conscience keeps on telling me", the other is God saying, "If you don't sit your ass down and have some patience..." Both of these voices are strong enough in my mind to make me fall back from my criminal mind state for the simple fact Hope + Faith = Patience. I am going to be okay, all my bills will be paid; my health care, my daughters daycare, and so will Ms. Julia Beverly. I am destined to be a multi millionaire anyway, check for my new special coming on BET all about the DJs; I am the consulting producer on that. Speaking of patience, South Crack "The Album" is over 11,000 sold and I'm waiting on EMI to cut that check.


I had a Pressing and Distrubution deal with them. My company Stupid Dope Moves gets 70% of all profits so you do the math, not to mention the book deal and a certain situation with South Carolina artist Lil Ru and one of the top 4 producers in the country. Damn, now that I'm looking at it in black and white. I'm saying to myself everything is going to be more than alright.
Hope + Faith = Patience

My President is Biracial

My President is Black, well actually he's biracial and truth be told it shouldn't be any other way.  A Biracial president is exactly what America needs right now because a Biracial president doesn't see the color of one's skin. A biracial president just sees good and evil, right and wrong, God or Satan.  


America is at a critical point; a point where it’s not about race, gender, age, or sexuality. We’re at a point where it's about policies that benefit the masses or policies that hurt the masses. We’re at a point where it's about politicians who care about the needs of the common man or politicians that don't. All races here in America are being affected by a government so corrupt; one that has led us into unjust wars, caused our economy to be crippled, other countries to hate us so much that we constantly fear the risk of terrorist attacks. America had to see the evil of the Bush Administration, to see the devil in his purest form over the past eight years to finally be able to recognize God.   


Yes Barack Obama is a reflection of our creator.  What you saw on November 4, 2008 and what you’ve seen over the past two years is God touching the hearts of millions of people all across the world and especially in America.  He has touched our hearts to bring about change. I deal with Supreme Mathematics and this year was “08”. The number eight in Supreme Mathematics means to build and destroy.  To build is to add onto your life positively step by step.  To destroy is to tear down everything negative within your cipher. When you pray for God to take negativity out your life, he's not swinging at spirits he's swinging at people and things that are the embodiment of that negativity.  


How did we build in “08”? We helped build Barack Obama's campaign by spreading the word.  We went door to door encouraging people to register to vote and encouraging people to go out and vote after they where registered. We helped build his campaign with our written blogs, video blogs, our mix tapes, our songs, our t-shirts, our radio shows and our donations to his campaign. We added to our lives positively. By helping Brother Barack win we have single handily step by step built the foundation for a new generation of Black America and America in general and in the process what we destroyed was the negative feelings that so many people including myself have had about government and democracy in America.   


I never registered to vote in my life.  This is the first time for me and right now I'm 1 and 0 and feeling good about it. I contributed to change.  Let's talk about change. I told you I deal with Supreme Mathematics.  Next year January 20, 2009 Barack Obama will be sworn in as the next President of the United States of America. The number nine symbolizes born. Everything must go from knowledge to born in order to be. Barack started his campaign with a thought; the thought that he could be President of The US one day and he made that thought be born into reality on Nov. 4th.  Nine symbolizes the highest level of change.  Do you think it's a coincidence that Barack was called Candidate Change? Do you think it's a coincidence that his whole campaign was based on change? No it's part of God's divine plan.   
 
 


Change is the basis of growth and growth is the basis of life and if you’re not changing, you’re not growing, and if you’re not growing you’re dying and that is what was happening to the US. That energy you feel is the energy of change.  It's everywhere and that's what “09” symbolizes.  The man that is being sworn into the Oval Office is the Poster Boy for Change.     


Now I was at my man Kevin Powell's election party on the 4th and I was in there building with my homie Hassan Johnson. You may know him as Wee-Bey from the "Wire".  He said to me, “Charlamagne, we in "Obama Time" OT.”   I responded, “My brother there is a lot of science in what you just said.”   I personally felt like we were coming to the end of civilization as we know it. Like Armageddon was upon us, Game Over, but if you read the bible you’d know in the book of Malachi three verse one it reads, “I am going to send my messenger to prepare a way before me and this messenger is supposed to come deliver a message that causes mankind to repent and change their ways in order for God to spare them.”   


Well the message of Change is hear and if the Game was almost over and now we are in "Obama Time" OT that's overtime. That means God is giving us at least four more years to get it together on this planet and win this game called life. Change has come and the first order of change is that I will be referring to myself as an African American from now on. On CNN they kept calling Barack Obama the first African American President so I’m going to start really wearing the title we where given decades ago.  


I'm proud to be American. I never gave a damn about it before but I'm feeling mighty patriotic right now.  White people, I won't be calling yall crackers behind your back so don't call me nigga behind mine. We are all brothers and sisters.  We all went out voted together and selected our new Head of State together. When you see a landslide victory like Obama had and him being announced president at 11:00 PM Eastern Time that means America has spoken.   


We all came together to make this happen so let's keep this positive energy going, let's keep this change that's sweeping the nation going.  For all you brothers that like to practice victomology, don't come to me with that, “Yeah Barack won but that can't take away years of segregation and slavery.” You know what?  Those brothers would be exactly right in saying that.  We didn't get our 40 acres and a mule but we did get 50 states and a white house. God loves us and God loves America.  Let's keep it pushing and remember the key word in “09” is Change. Peace
