JENA 6 - How many of yall wore all black today?

Up here in manhattan on (im on columbia univerity's campus) i dont see that many people wearing all black. I made sure to wear mine tho and i know down in bed stuy they are doing it. Some people may argue the validity of doing that as opposed to something more tangible, im of the mind that a show of solidarity is a show of solidarity. I'm sure that if alot of these people observing 'the blackout' (as i liek to call it) could donate more than their spirit they would, self included.

But from the people who are in the know rocking their black today i have recieved several nods of 'thats whats up' and that is whats up people. waking up with an egocentric purpose is a great thing but waking up with a broader sense of changing the your surroundings and focusing your actions is powerful.

So rounding out another week you have the VPND show. I would like to dedicate this show to the Jena 6 and Bobby Byrd. While we did mention the untimely passing of Mr. Byrd we failed to mention the injustice that is going on right under our noses. Roll over to lessondaryradio and check it out or you can click the cassette to go to our podcast home page. Feel free to drop us a line at vpndshow@gmail.com to let us know how you feel and send music or nudie pictures. Regarding the music we may play it, we may not but we will look at all nudie pictures (men need not apply LOL).

DONT TASE ME BRO!

real talk, that nigga needed to be tased. fuck all that. i dont care if he was just askin his lil harmless questions tryna be cute and stir up a lil controversy. thats what you get. sit yo ass down fam. shit shouldnt even be news. i guess its news cause it happened at a political event but the general rule where i come from is when the niggas with the right to use excessive force come around you generally pipe the fuck down and follow instructions. if you are in the right thats even more reason to just get the fuck outta dodge because they are by default in the right and dont like being wrong. im not sayin become an instant pussy, but i am saying dont get tasered, shot, handcuffed or arrested.

the boys have tried all kinda slick shit with me from attempting to plant drugs on me, masing me, slamming me on cars and drawing their weapons. i dont knwo what this guys experience wit the law is but he pretty much just saw first hand the cardinal rule of dealing with the police: cooperate. you cant win no way, the whole point of an interaction is to not get arrested. maybe he jsut wanted to be a star. well he is cyberfamous now

i now present the world premier of his debut smash hit single: DONT TASE ME BRO!

Am i trippin or are release dates back in effect?!?! ((lessondary radio))

so wait, not like im really into soundscan numbers like that but did the 9/11 face off shut kenney chesney outta even seein the number one spot? i mean never mind who actually won in the sales race between kanye and 50 cus it all boils down to hip hop but did middle america show up to wal mart in their cowboy hats to cop CURTIS to pump while ridin on their tractors?

whoa

people do yall realize what that means? i mean record companies are crying about sales being down and no doubt its harder to move product than ever but with common, kweli, kanye, and 50 (who else am i forgetting that dropped recently) all coming out nad doing good 1st weeks numbers maybe the labels will be a little more willing to push and promote your favorite artists.

the last time i remember a release date holding this much weight was when outkast, jay z, a tribe called quest and blackstar (if im not mistaken) all dropped on the same day. man that shit was CRAZY! and now i mean to much lesser homegrown hype and more media wizardry they kinda created the same effect by pitting two top artists against each other. but even before that man it feels good to see artists that we dotn feel get their props represented on the charts man.

even tho little brother got pushed back man i feel like the tide is turning and people are showing up at the stores, tay and pooh will do well. im very assured of it, i think people are goin out to whatever stores that are left and copping. i mean everybody and they MOMMA had both kanye and curtis before it dropped but that aint stop em from gettin a proper copy you know?.

call me crazy but yeah, i think rap is winning again.

oh yeah and yall know what time it is... LESSONDARY RADIO! this week we explain how we didnt get to perform and almost got arrested in dc. check it out...
