                Normally I don’t talk on the “hot topic” rap issues, but last Friday I seen one I had to bring up. In between trying to hustle my way into a Rock the Bells ticket, (the ticket is like 77 dollars, I’m about 77 dollars away…don’t think I won’t be there)I noticed that this cat Calvin Klein did an interview with Kay Slay commenting on Jay Z…..this is some of the lamest bullshit I’ve heard in awhile.

                First of all, this is on the Kay Slay show…Slay is the biggest Jay hater alive. Can someone in New York please tell my why Slay is so hurt by Jay? Every time I turn around Kay is throwing subliminals or involved in subliminals toward Jay, now this interview. Now, DJ Nay Nay has this dude Calvin Klein on the show. Calvin was one of (supposable) the biggest hustlers out in Brooklyn during the 80’s. Nay Nay’s partner side chick, whatever her name is, asks dude if him and Jay were affiliated, then cuts back and asks him if they were partners. Calvin replies that calling them partners in the 80’s is giving Jay way too much credit. Klein says Jay was in line, he was a “soldier”.  He says 10% of Jay’s raps are truth, he is from Marcy, his name is Shawn Carter, he is from Brooklyn, the rest is Calvin’s life. Mistake number 1, dude says calling him and Jay partners was way too much credit for Jay, however, he goes on to say him and Jay caught an attempted murder case together in the late 80’s. Excuse me? Now, if a McDonalds’ gets credit for being the biggest grossing Mickey D’s in the city, they don’t give an award to the store manager and the fry cook. If Jay is only a “soldier”, how did they catch an attempted murder case together? Why didn’t the soldier catch the case and the boss go free? Anywayz, so dude goes on, he says he got 40 years, yet when Jay spoke on his behalf, it went down to four years.  No “Thanks Jay” for that, instead he says that if it wasn’t for him taking the the rap for that case, you wouldn’t even know Jay Z…WTF? Coo Coo Cal goes on to say that when the whole Jay/Nas beef popped off, Nas exposed Jay. He said he didn’t know how Nas could have got so much dirt of Jay that was all true. He said Clark Kent reached out to him and told him “if Jay ever needed you, he needs you now,”…so he does the Don Diva interview. In the Don Diva mag, dude basically shouts Jay out and says Jay was in the streets doing his thing. Kevin Klein says he was taking chances even doing that interview because his case was being appealed at the time. He says when he got out, Jay told him he’d take care of him, but he didn’t. Calvin is now Akon’s manager. He claims Jay should have held him down, cuz when he told him he would, he missed other opportunities waiting for Jay. He then throws a quick threat at Jay, telling him “don’t park that Maybach on the Def Jam streets”, says he has a couple million, while Jay’s partner Ta Ta (of pepper spraying R. Kelly fame) is broke, and just moved his moms out the projects recently, says Jay isn’t a real boss, if you compare his crew to Diplomats “Bleek is broke and has nothing, while Juelz has shit”, calls Jay a “white boy on the inside”, and then says he’d be willing to talk  things out.



                First of all, all these drug dealers talking about rappers took they life…go pick up a mic. If Jay took your life and wrote about it, and you’re the real hustler, why is JAY the top hip hop money maker of last year, and not you? This dude is hella hurt, and Kay Slay took advantage of it. Dude said in the interview that Jay and them didn’t want to end up with an Irv Gotti situation, having the feds kicking his door in, but he says he’s been clean since he got out, but then he says he has a couple million. Akon doesn’t have a couple million his self, so where would Coo Coo Cal get a cool 2 million? If jay is such a poser, and he’s been writing about Klein’s life, why did Klein back him up in the Don Diva interview? I’m no “Teflon Don” myself, but I know a few things…if you’re real, you don’t endorse fakes. Therefore, either dude is corny for giving Jay props, or he’s just a hater mad cuz he’s not getting any bread. I’m sick of washed up ass drug dealers getting mad cuz they didn’t know to pull a Master P and get out of that game a long time ago. Is Jay writing about dudes life? Maybe, I don’t know, I don’t really give too many of these rappers the benefit of the doubt when it comes to the reality behind their lyrics anyway, but dudes interview was hella lame and haterish. Dude said he was amazed that Nas’ song had so much truth to it? (at this point, Kay Slay says “I was the first one to play that record”…STFU) Nas said that in 88, Jay was getting chased through his building, calling Nas house for help…How old is Nas? 90 percent of “Ether” was shit everybody already knew, or jokes. I’m not dissing the track, it was dope, but it’s just funny how dude did an interview shouting Jay out when the track dropped, now later on, he’s in awe of “Ether”.  Get the fuck outta here.



                It’s sad that some of us (people in the hood) have such a fucked up mentality, that if someone makes something of themselves, we feel if we can’t make it with them, we have to pull them down. Not just the lame ass drug dealing dude, but Kay Slay also. I used to get mad when rappers would talk about everybody hating on them, but now I see for some it’s actually true. Dude claims he’s not that mad, then why the hell did he do a whole interview about the shit? That’s not no street shit. Since when have drug dealers gotten mad and ran to radio DJs to do interviews dissing people? As real, and legendary as the dude is supposed to be, he just pulled a bitch rapper move.
