When I first spoke on the whole Vick situation I said that the media was mishandling the case. When I spoke on the issue the second time, I said people jumping to conclusions and getting over emotional pre-trial were wrong for doing so. I stand by that. I also said that if they have evidence that proves Vick is guilty he deserves whatever sentence he gets. I stand by that also. I wouldn’t change a word of anything I typed prior to it being announced Mike will be pleading guilty. Since it’s been announced Mike Vick will be pleading guilty I’ve heard two different opinions. One…he’s guilty. Two…he’s not guilty, but he was gonna get found guilty so he plead guilty to take a lesser penalty. Truthfully, I’d be more upset with Mike Vick if opinion number 2 is right. I decided to drop my 999,999,999,999 cents on both sides.
Side 1: “That nigga did that shit”
All that shit I said about people being wrong for jumping the gun…..well it’s no longer jumping the gun. I don’t care what evidence they have or don’t have, dude plead guilty, plain and simple. He’s admitted to the crime of dog fighting, which is illegal. People can argue about how insignificant a dog’s life is all they want, but dog fighting is illegal. If you do something illegal, there’s the possibility of facing punishment. When I light up non-tobacco products I know “I could get a ticket for this shit, or possibly lose my job”. Whether you think it’s wrong or not that it’s illegal, it doesn’t matter, it’s illegal. If you think something shouldn’t be illegal, you go petition, write congressmen, or some shit like that. Once you get caught, it’s too late. Is a human’s life more valuable than that of an animal? Of course it is, but not to the point where you can take a animal’s life for pure entertainment. Or even worse, taking the life of an animal because it refused to entertain. Now, those are just my moral opinions, so I can’t really force anyone else to feel that way, but the fact remains what dude did was illegal, and him pleading guilty meant that he’s admitting to doing it.
Now, like I said prior, if we take that stance, you have to go a step further. While people have gotten extremely upset because dude tortured some dogs, several other animals are tortured and killed daily here in America, without huge media coverage. Chickens are crammed together in cages so tight that some of them never touch the bottom of the cages. Irritated, they bite at each other, tearing of beaks, legs, and other parts of the other chickens bodies. Why? So farmers can hold more chickens in a smaller area and make more money. Cows are kept in cages so small they can’t move, and only given liquids to produce Veal. Deer and birds are constantly being hunted. (even the vice president hunts) Where is all the media coverage for this stuff? Where’s the public outcry for all of this? Torturing and killing for what reason other than we can? None. Truthfully, contradictory to what the big homie J-23 said, we don’t even have to eat meat (Vegans and Vegetarians are normally healthier than meat eaters. They have been proven less likely to get all sorts of illness meat eaters get also). In fact, are bodies aren’t designed for eating meat. Look at our teeth, and then look at the teeth of any other meat eater. They’re not the same. Our digestive track is more similar to that of herbivores than carnivores, yet animals are tortured so farmers can make more money off meat that we eat that we don’t even have to. Why isn’t everybody bothered by the horrible treatment of other sentient animals like they are for dogs? See here in America, we don’t keep deer or chickens on leashes in our houses. While the Buddhist have extreme respect for the cows…this is America, and who gives a fuck. We do things however we want, even if it is contradictory.
Truthfully, Mike Vick changed my life. Although I was against jumping to conclusions, I never did agree with dog fighting, and I always stated that if it is proven dude is guilty he’s wrong. When I wrote the second blog and spoke on how people were hypocrites, I realized, I was a hypocrite. Just because I wasn’t anxious to strangle Vick for being accused, the fact that I’m against dog fighting yet I will still fuck some hot wings up is wrong. Therefore, as decided last week, this is my last month eating beef, and next month is my last month eating chicken. I had already quit eating pork, and I’ll continue eating non-farm raised fish. I’ll miss Carne Asada and hot wings…but if I get a craving for chicken, I can always purchase a naturally raised chicken (for $50 a chicken…geesh) Eating non-farm raised fish and naturally raised chicken is still a contradiction, considering the animal is being killed when it doesn’t have to be, but I’m attempting to role with the lesser of two evils. That in itself will still be a battle, but I’m at least willing to try.
Side 2: “He ain’t do it, the man tried to lynch him, so he had to take the lesser charge”
Truthfully, I hope Vick did do it. If the people proclaiming “He just took the lesser charge because he’d be found guilty even though he’s innocent” are right,I’d be extremely bothered. Not because the trial was bullshit, but because this dude lacks the balls to stand up for himself. Whatever happened to the Ali’s? If you didn’t do something, you stand up like a man. They may find you guilty of it anyway, but if your innocent, you don’t say you did it. Fuck the system, if you ARE innocent, stand up to it, if you get hung, at least you stood for something. I know people are gonna say “Oh, he don’t wanna be sitting in jail for that long, he gotta make money” etc. etc., and some more bullshit, but people have to stand the fuck up. There’s more important shit in this world than money. I’d definitely hold right’s and freedom above money, and if the people who are in the position to stand up and make a statement don’t, black fans of the Atlanta Falcons have a lot more serious issues than having Joey Harrington at QB. I really wish I could say more for side 2, but the thing is, IF Mike Vick IS innocent, he’s a jelly spine bitch made mouse nigga. I wish I could be in the court room as he walks off in cuffs to tell him to his face. I believe he was treated unfairly because he was black, but him pleading guilty had nothing to do with his color. IF he IS innocent, him pleading guilty is because he’s a coward afraid to take a stand.
Take it how you want it. Pick your side, but you have to fully consider all shit involved. If you think dude did it and your upset he did it not because it’s illegal, but because you think it’s wrong, drop the Chicken McNuggets. If you think he didn’t do it, and he got forced into taking the charge he took, you should be disappointed he didn’t stand up in an effort to stop people being screwed by the system. Shit…even Irv Gotti fought his case, and he’d never last as many seasons in the NFL as Mike Vick. I guess he still has more heat than Vick…IF you think he IS innocent. No matter what side is right, dude is still an embarrassment to the likes of Jim Brown, Ali, and even Warrick Dunn.
Ok, let me start by saying I seen this coming. Far before the Vick issue blew way out of hand, I saw people already forming opinions and hanging dude publicly. Before it was a big enough issue for Al Sharpton’s bitch ass to speak on it, I brought it up. For those that don’t know the facts or are trying to ignore them…let me break the situation down.
Vick buys a house out in Surrey County Virginia. He gives the house to his cousin. Vick is a certified pit bull breeder, and the house contains 50+ pit bulls. The house comes under investigation for drugs, the house is checked, they found nothing drug related, what they do find is a little blood on the ground, a device used to unlock a pit bulls jaws, a treadmill rigged for pit bulls, and what people are calling a “rape stand” (first of all, the word rape is used for people, animals can’t be raped…why? The word is defined as an act committed amongst people, therefore, that word is misused, most likely intentionally for its connotation) which basically holds the female in place so the male can mate with her. The Surrey County people decided to investigate for dog fighting. A ESPN reporter reported that Ray Buchannon, Ex-Falcon CB said that Vick “Loved the dog fighting culture,” Ray Buchannon came out and said that he never said that, the reporter replied that he was gonna stick to his story. ESPN then ran a special with a special with a “insider” who had been convicted of dog fighting whose voice was changed and body was in shadows (for his safety) who said that Vick was a big gambler in the dog fighting world. Surrey County prosecutor took his time with the investigation, because they said they wanted to do the investigation “right”. PETA wrote to Roger Godell complaining about how he was handling the situation. The Feds came in and took the case over. They were reports of dogs being buried in the backyard, yet unlike the original evidence found, this was never mentioned again. Roger Godell, the commissioner of the NFL said he wouldn’t suspend Vick due to the fact he’s not a repeat offender, and he hadn’t been convicted. After hearing from witnesses, the FEDs then chose to indict Vick. Nike then decided to hold off on the release of Vick’s new shoes. Soon after Vick was indicted, Roger Godell demanded Vick stay away from training camp pending a league investigation. The league has separate investigators who will look at the evidence the federal government has, and make a decision of their own prior to the case being complete.
What’s the fucking point of a legal system anyway?
People can say all they want about what he “might” have done, but nothing has been proven. He owned a house his cousin stayed in. Vick had dogs there, and some convicted felons say he was a part of a dog fighting ring. Everybody is running around damning dude to hell and wishing death upon him because Ray-ray, who got caught, is saying Vick fights dogs? What other evidence is there? Blood on the ground? A device used to pry pit bulls jaws apart? If you have that many pit bulls, you better have something to pry their jaws apart. Let’s be real…what evidence is there? Nothing, but yet and still PETA, Al Sharpton and Russell Simmons are telling the NFL to leave him alone. Their writing to his job and telling his job, not to employ him anymore because of something he was accused of. Just Blaze is saying “Fuck Mike Vick” and stuff like that…..just get me my damn Saigon album, that’s what you do. If Vick get’s found guilty without a reasonable doubt, he deserves whatever punishment the legal system gives him. Dog fighting is wrong. I’m not defending people who fight dogs. I don’t care what people “think” pit bulls are raised for. Any sentient (See “Transformers” tried to drop some knowledge on you, but you probably didn’t catch it. Optimus Prime says at one point in the movie, humans deserve to live, as does any sentient being. This train of thought comes from a philosopher named Jeremy Bentham, except he applied the same saying to animals. Sentience is the ability to feel pain and pleasure, and wanting to live. Bentham believed that since animals are sentient; they deserve to be treated equally with considerations for their differences. This was further stressed by modern philosopher, Peter Stinger in 1975.) creature deserves the right to live. Dog fighting is morally wrong, however, Vick hasn’t been found guilty yet. If he does, he’ll get what he deserves.
I had been schooled on animal rights in a philosophy class I took before. Here’s the funny part about all of this though. All these people upset because Vick is accused of fighting/killing dogs, calling for his head, calling for his job, etc. etc., I bet very few of them are Vegans. Everybody is calling Vick an idiot, cuz he’s making millions of dollars, he shouldn’t be doing what he’s doing (accused of doing), but McDonalds makes billions of dollars, everyday they’re putting holes in cows heads. Every day chickens are being killed so you can have some damn McNuggets. I know Bill O Reiley’s fat ass eats meat; I don’t hear him complaining about the treatment of animals on corporate farms. Oh….they’re just cows…what’s the difference? See people here in America love to think what we do is right and the way things should be. All animals are equal. If they don’t cause a threat to human life, why should they be treated any different? When I was in that philosophy class, we watched a video on this place in Asia where they eat cats. They shocked the cats, smashed their heads, all sorts of shit, so they fix them up as a meal. The people in the class were cringing. They couldn’t bear to see “little fluffy” get her head bashed in so someone can eat her. That’s life. Just because you’re attached to Toto, don’t think everyone else has to be. If you’re so convinced that it’s oh so wrong for him to be dog fighting, you should also think its wrong that baby cows are kept in extremely small cages and only given liquids to produce veal. If not, you my friend are a huge hypocrite. I wonder if Just Blaze occasionally enjoys a whopper. I’m pretty sure Russell is a vegan, but I wonder if Al Sharpton questions whether his hair products have been tested on animals. I doubt it. Where were these same people when Dickface Chaney shot his partner on accident, while shooting at birds intentionally? Where was Just Blaze’s blog about that? Why isn’t the same fuss being made over Roy Jones fighting chickens? Oh, it’s illegal to fight dogs, and those other things are legal, you say? Just because something is legal doesn’t make it morally right. Just because something is illegal doesn’t make it morally wrong. When you say someone should “burn in hell” you say that because they’ve done something wrong. Not because they’ve done something illegal. Smoking wed is illegal, but you’re not gonna say someone should burn in hell for doing that are you? Murder is illegal, if you think someone should burn in hell because they’ve murdered someone, it’s not because murder is illegal, it’s because you believe murder is wrong. Be consistent, or at least take that into consideration before you open your mouth, or start typing slanderous stuff like most of the commenters on my original blog, Shake’s blog, and….Andres blog already have. That’s all I’m saying.
Step away from the fact that Vick ran for 100+ yards against your Carolina Panthers and kept them out of the playoffs last year. Step away from the fact that someone in your fantasy league had Vick and Vick ran for two touchdowns beating you last year. Step away from the fact that Vick has herpes but still get’s way more pussy than you ever will. Grow the fuck up, and look at the situation. Dude has been indicted for dog fighting, the only actual evidence they have against him is the words of convicted felons. Don’t try and say that the federal government always gets their guy and that they wouldn’t bring up a case they couldn’t find someone guilty on, because Irv Gotti just beat a fed case like 2 years ago. The Surrey County prosecutor already said they don’t even want to bring charges up against him anymore, now it’s just the Feds. You wouldn’t hear that in the mainstream media though. I went to ESPN.com, it didn’t mention that anywhere. Why? Because that doesn’t go in the direction they’ve been pushing this thing all along. It’s not controversial that the people that brought this up to begin with are no longer interested in trying to press charges against Vick. Like I said and always have said, if dude get’s found guilty, he’ll get what he deserves, until then, let things be.
