what an incredible journey.
i didnt know what to expect getting out there at all. once i touched down, i realized it was a whole nother world. the thing that struck me the most were the people. being from California, i figured....it cant get any worse than Hollywood bitches.
WRONG
New Yorkers are funny people. i tried to be as nice as i could but these people looked like they wanted to stab me in the throat for saying hi, and thank you. i walked through Manhattan and everyone looked pissed as fuck. i would ask somebody something and they would ignore me when i was looking straight at them. Like if they didnt want to be bothered. if felt like the whole city was on PMS. i felt like buying some Midol and standing on Broadway and 23rd, handing it out to everyone that passed by. Muthafuckas just need to smoke weed and calm the fuck down a second and be happy out there. I thought i was gonna get 50 rounds in me for being polite. Not to mention the 2828733 blocks, 74767 ways to get to where you need to be and 928383 bridges. Yall dont know how to drive out there neither, there were so many near death experiences.....the fucking BUS almost hit my ass while i crossed the street and the "walking" sign was on. hahaha...and its funny to see people walking and cut in front of cars...then get mad and curse you out when its clearly THEIR fault...LOL
Dont get it twisted though NY, yall really are the city that never sleeps. i loved the fact it could be 3am and you could stop by your neighborhood food spot and get a greasy ass Turkey sandwidch that will clog my arteries tomorrow and give me a heart attack by 26. that was great. I aint mad at Junior's cheescake either, OR the pizza, OR the soul food OR dallas bbq, OR the food on the side of the street (even if the prices are inflated as fuck). i love the fact yall got a subway system too. walking the street drunk and hoppin on the express is always a good look when its 2am (no driving). and to think, i come home to 3.93 a gallon for gas. word is, its supposed to go up to 4.00 dollars next week, and in some parts its at 4 already (4.35 to be exact). SMHHH
ill also never be mad at paying for drinks in California AGAIN. yall got double the price than it is here. shit is ridiculous out there.
all in all, it was a crazy experience. i suggest everyone in the US take their DMV parallel parking test out there because its amazing how they get it in with the parking situation. ill also provide the weed for everyone in New York to calm their ass down and be chill. it felt so good to be back and have people make random conversations. i ALMOST thought they were crazy for doing that. i guess NY rubbed off on me a little. one thing tho, being out there while the Sean Bell verdict was announced, you could feel the atmosphere change and smell it everywhere you walked. Friday was truly a sad day for NY.
ill be back though. its gon be a hot summer.
shouts to everyone who i met up with.
