REAL Hip-Hop has ceased to exist

In this ringtone day and age, where candy shops crank dat music and the machine tell us why its hot, we find more and more people searching for a different outlet and almost gearing towards REAL music. Of course, your average music fan doesn't care to search for anything less than what's on the radio. Or maybe its the fact that they don't know any better. Perhaps its the fact they don't know WHERE to look besides the usual media outlets.

someone told me today that Lollipop was a great song. lol...nothing against Weezy F. (because he has a hit on his hands), but is that really GOOD music? it probably took him all but 15 minutes to write the whole thing. [R.I.P. to Static Major]. Why not talk about something uplifting that strengthens our society, instead of subliminally teaching kids about how to suck dick? (Word to getting low-low-low). Dont get me wrong, when im in the club feeling good and i see a broad drunk, thats defintely a song that would probably set it off (in about a month, let the song catch on some). Maybe its diff types of tracks for differents type of people. Sort of like a Kia as opposed to a Bentley. i guess for the superficial folks who dont follow substance, thats definitely the track to make them feel good. Someone even said NY doesnt know how to make hits anymore, and that the South took their whole lane while they got stuck in the 90's.

i refuse to believe that.

so what do you get when you pair artists like, The Roots, Mos Def, Styles P, Skyzoo, Torae, Esso, AC, Stimuli, Pacific Division, Kidz In The Hall, Wale, Naledge, Talib Kweli, The Game, Rakim, Outkast, 2ew Gunn Ciz, AZ, and Termanology? Would that be considered REAL hip-hop? Some people would call it backpack rap. some would say thats NY underground with artists that will never make it commercially.

i call it good music.

REAL Hip-Hop: No Gimmicks (The Mixtape)

if you like good music, this is def the tape to check out (shameless plug, i know, click the link anyway). shouts to DJ Blazita for holding it down on the tape as well. Its not everyday you find a female rocking with some real hip-hop shit.

until the next time i decide to ramble about how ringtone rap sucks. lol, Weezy lovers, please feel free to bash.

ps. Corey Gunz RENEGADED him on his own shit. i put a millie on it. (why do you think hes off the track now?)
