With so many Rappers putting out DVD’s of so-called documentaries or shaky hand held camera concerts that have a look of about a two hundred dollar budget. It’s nice to see some that put out quality over quantity. That’s right I am talking about the infamous Wu-Tang Clan and their recently released DVD Disciples of the 36 Chambers: Chapter 2.

The DVD, which was shot at the July 17th Rock The Bells festival in San Bernadino, CA was magnificent. It featured the original nine-member clan for the first time in a few years. The disc has some spectacular shots and candid interviews with high definition quality. The film offers 34 songs as well as some special features that include two extra videos by Masta Killa and the RZA. It is a must watch for any true Wu fan. It shows the unique qualities that each member possesses. From Ghost, Meth and RZA’s true stage persona, to the GZA’s unparallel lyrical gifts. The film documented members of the group in action onstage at the concert. It was a hot night in San Bernadino, but the temperature only added to the energy at the event. Fans interacted with the group during the rendition of their nineties hit “Cream” bouncing lyrics back and forth from the audience to the Clan. At the finish of the concert, the RZA tempted the audience with the question of whether the fans wanted another album featuring all nine members. The reaction from the crowd was awe-inspiring and illustrated that the thirst for the Clan still exists. In response, the Wu-Tang Clan recently released a greatest hits album titled Legend of the Wu-Tang that will hopefully hold the fans appetites while the Clan decides if a new album is in their future. The documentary and the album yet again prove that the Wu-Tang Clan reaches a diverse audience, and that their metaphorical lyrics coupled with the members differing personalities attract a wide fan base that spans the globe.

When asked about the process of making the film GZA said, “It was a great experience to be back together. It was a family reunion and it's always good to see family.” So, whether you have been a follower of the Clan from the beginning, or are only becoming a part of their ever increasing fan base, Disciples of the 36 Chambers: Chapter 2 will be a great addition to your catalog of DVD’s.
