The American Pie cast have come full circle from their career making roles from the original as they reprise their roles from the 1999 smash hit. This time around, the sexually charged teens have just finished their first year at college and are ready to blow of some steam culminating at a summer-ending bash at a rented summer cottage by the lake.

Unfortunately what American Pie 2 lacks form the original is the original’s freshness. The original American Pie marked a high point in a flood of teen movies that dotted the Hollywood market at the time none of which; however, seem as fresh as the original American Pie. Don’t get me wrong, American Pie 2 is still a funny movie with some of the best laughs coming from Steve Stifler as he steals nearly every scene he’s in. (Watch from subtle reference’s to Dude, Where’s My Car...).

All in all, American Pie 2 becomes to the Jim and Stifler show which is not so bad as Jason Biggs and Sean William Scot do have the ability to carry the movie. American Pie 2; however, does not serve up as big of a slice as the original because this second “pie” seems a bit stale.
