Less than two weeks after his 19th birthday, an arrest warrant was issued for Chief Keef in Highland Park, Illinois on Friday (August 22). The $50,000 warrant was issued following the rapper’s failure to appear at a pretrial hearing in a DUI case stemming from an arrest in March.

In March, Chief Keef was pulled over for expired tags on the 2010 Jeep Cherokee he was driving and then subsequently arrested after he failed a field sobriety test. Prior to the sobriety test, Keef apparently admitted to smoking marijuana. After the arrest, the rapper was released on $300 bail less than two weeks after leaving a rehabilitation center in Orange County, California.

According to BET, Chief Keef’s lawyer Laura Starkman explained that the rapper failed to show at the pretrial hearing due to a work obligation. The Chicago rapper was scheduled to appear at a Santa Anna house party last night (August 23) according to a post on Instagram. Starkman did not comment on the Highland Park arrest warrant according to BET.

The missed hearing is just the latest in a long string of criminal charges levied against Chief Keef in the past year. The 19-year old was charged for failure to pay child support last year and has already spent time in jail twice due to marijuana-related charges. Additionally, Keef was sued last year for a missed show in Washington D.C., arrested for speeding (driving 110 mph in a 55mph zone), served time for a probation violation, and more. Earlier this year, Keef was evicted from his home in Illinois apparently due to excessive partying at the rented residence.
