Blind Rapper Supervision to Drop Debut Aug 28

August 17th, 2001 | Author:

There's nothing unusual about the fact that LA rapper Supervision is dropping his debut LP on August 28.
There's nothing unusual about the fact that the album, called Supervision Presents 20/20, features Ja Rule and Bone Thugs N Harmony.
There's nothing unusual about the fact that he's on tour right now with Mystikal and Ginuwine either.

The only thing unusual about this up-and-coming emcee is that he's blind.

Supervision is out to teach the world that being physically blind is nowhere near as big a handicap as being like "these mentally and socially blind fools." He sends love and respect to women, something that is rare in today's Ross Meyer-esque hip-hop world, and has even dedicated his lead single Superstar to them.

Supervision was hit in the eye with a broken bottle at the age of six, and a subsequent infection cost him his sight. But that didn't stop him on his quest for emcee glory. One of his stops on the path to fame included an appearance in a battle featuring Eminem at the 97 Rap Olympics.

This rapper will not be stopped by his blindness. "I'm a universal emcee who happens to be sightless, but I have infinite mental vision," he says.
