OJ appears at Wyclef show in Florida

August 30th, 2001 | Author:

Talk about a high-profile party guest. The one and only OJ Simpson appeared at the First Damn Birthday Jam in the Gulf Coast community of Estero, Florida. For those who were living in a cave on Mars with their eyes shut and their fingers in their ears (props to Sideshow Bob's bro Cecil), Simpson is an NFL Hall of Fame running back who starred with the Buffalo Bills in the 1970's. In 1995, he was accused of killing his ex-wife Nicole and her friend Ron Goldman. After undergoing the "trial of the century," he was proven innocent.

Simpson signed autographs for fans at the concert, a first birthday party for the Beat 105.5, a hip-hop station in Florida. The concert was headlined by Wyclef Jean, and also featured Foxy Brown and Lil Mo. Simpson was well received by most fans, but not all were so happy to have him there. "I heard a lot of people say he got away with murder," said one concert-goer, "OJ got the kind of trial we should all get."
