Album Reviews

Hip Hop Music Reviews and Rap CD Reviews – The only source you can trust!

A number of years ago a certain magazine ruined rap album reviews by rarely going outside 3 and 4.5 on the 5 point rating scale. To this day most cats stick within those parameters with hip hop music reviews and R’n’B reviews. HipHopDX is changing all that, we’re using everything between 0 and 5 and dissecting LP’s with knowledge and perspective not seen often anymore. Credible rap CD reviews are about the only way to sift through all the garbage out there these days, HipHopDX has got that.

He reminds you of Jigga with his charisma and shows hints of Jada in his cockiness. And though he's has only been in the game for a minute, his rhyming skills actually may be their superior.

Rap Essentials 2001 is one of the best compilations in the series' history. It has a healthy balance of artists with maturing sounds and those willing to experiment.

Soundboy, Rob The Viking takes the reigns for most of the album and picks up where he left off on Swollen's album. The opening 4 tracks of the album are all beautifully crafted beats

Juvenile fans may be a little disappointed by the lack of quality hits on the album, but no need to fear- it seems a little on the vanilla side, there is a tad of chocolate swirl to keep things interesting

In the midst of his various party tracks that he has released in the past, Jay Z has reached into his soul and found his gusto that allowed Reasonable Doubt to hit the hip-hop classic list.

We all know that rappers fuck hoes and bitches, but how many of them can lace a track with such pornographic eloquence?

Like most compilations expect both highs and lows to be delivered by Chapter 2. Sadly, there are many disappointing tracks..
RZA - Bobby Digital: Digital Bullet

Full to the brim with sex, honey dripped drugs and stories from Bobby' lab, is an 18 track (with 2 bonus) entry into the world of the digital pimp.
