Freddie Gibbs has flexed his skills outside the booth, and it overlaps with the interests of ScHoolboy Q, with whom he recently collaborated on the latter’s Blue Lips album.

On Monday (March 5), the Indiana native shared a brief clip to his social media in which he could be seen at what looked to be a driving range.

In a 2020 interview with Complex, Gangsta Gibbs talked about playing golf during the quarantine, though he did admit to not being too good at it when asked what his handicap was.

“My handicap? I don’t know. It might be like a minus three or some shit. I’m bad. I’m trash. Definitely not a good golfer.”

For ScHoolboy Q, however, the sport carries a deeper significance.

The Top Dawg Entertainment MC took part in the 2022 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in California, where he explained how the game changed his whole mindset during an interview on the course.

“Coming from where I come from, the life that I had, I never thought about playing golf,” he said in a video posted by the PGA Tour. “I got into it, and it changed my mental, it let me learn myself as a person. Like, this is why certain things in my life are going bad or certain things are going good, because of the attitude thing. It fixed my attitude in life. It fixed a whole lot of things about me in life.”

He continued: “Life is golf game. Some good shots, some bad shots. But most importantly, keep going because you never know. Don’t give up because you’re in the sand on your fourth shot, you might chip it in. It just taught me a lot about life, you feel me?”
