Get Out is taking the nation by storm and gave Jordan Peele the highest-grossing debut from a black director with $100 million at the box office.

While the movie is making headlines for its discussion of race and its genre-bending story, there’s one scene that has the internet going crazy. The #GetOutChallenge is based upon a moment when the main character, Chris (played by Daniel Kaluuya) goes outside for a smoke break and is nearly run over by the groundskeeper Walter “getting some exercise” in the middle of the night.

The sensation was reportedly started by Western Illinois University student Kira Donna, who uploaded a video of her friend reenacting the scene. The clip went viral and has amassed 3.7 million views since its March 4 upload.

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry helped the #GetOutChallenge pick up some momentum with his own video “trying to escape the sunken place.”

Portland Trail Blazers point guard (and rapper) Damian Lillard also joined in on the fun, doing his own run and resharing the original clip for his 3.3 million followers to enjoy.

Several others tried their hand at the challenge, including this news team.

And more.

Did Forrest Gump really do the original sprint away from the camera?
