Executive producer and star of Power 50 Cent was left furious late last year when the show was overlooked for even a single Golden Globes nomination.

A report from Deadline suggests that Fiddy had every right to be upset — it turns out that Power is second only to HBO’s flagship show Game Of Thrones in terms of premium cable show ratings. Last season’s premier racked up 2.26 million viewers — the highest ever for the Starz network.

The news gets better, with the report also revealing that with other platforms and delayed viewership being taken into account, each episode of Power ends up with an average of 8 million viewers. Not too shabby.

It’s something of which 50 Cent is well aware. In his Golden Globes rant, the In Da Club rapper wrote “I accept my series POWER was not intended to be a signature show for the network but it is the highest rated show.”

He has responded to this most recent report in a similar vein, essentially telling Game Of Thrones that he’s coming for the, uh, throne: “This season I will gain viewer ship and POWER will be #1. Game of Thrones is good, but POWER is Raw, pure uncut this Season.”

Season 4 of Power starts June 25, roughly a month before Game Of Thrones returns with its seventh season… Who will come out on top this year?
