Lil Uzi Vert and XXXTENTACION debuted their first studio albums at #1 and #2 respectively on the Billboard 200 albums chart for the week ending August 31, 2017. Elsewhere, A$AP Mob’s Cozy Tapes Vol. 2: Too Cozy came in at #6 following an impressive streaming run, and lastly, Action Bronson struggled to replicate the commercial success of Mr. Wonderful with his latest release, Blue Chips 7000.

Lil Uzi Vert Debuts At #1

Lil Uzi Vert’s debut studio album, Luv is Rage 2, rounds out its first week on the Billboard 200 albums chart at #1. The 16-track project, which includes the smash hit “XO Tour Llif3” and features guest appearances from Pharrell Williams and The Weeknd, sold 135,239 total album equivalent units, 28,326 of which were pure album sales. The album’s streaming count amassed an impressive 150,572,637 streams. Luv is Rage 2 marks the full-length follow-up to Uzi’s The Perfect Luv Tape and serves as the official sequel to 2015’s Luv is Rage. Check out DX’s review of the album here.

XXXTENTACION Lands At #2

Despite all of the controversy that surrounds him (or perhaps because of it), XXXTENTACION’s debut album, 17, opens at an impressive #2 during its first week on the Billboard 200 chart. X’s album streaming count came in at 99,998,965 streams, contributing to him ousting last week’s #2, Kodak Black’s Project Baby 2, which dipped 34 per cent to hit #9.

X’s Revenge mixtape, which dropped in May, also jumped from #148 to #102 with a 32 percent increase in total activity.

Action Bronson Debuts At #54

Action Bronson’s long-delayed album, Blue Chips 7000, debuted at #54 on the Billboard 200 chart this week, selling 10,203 total album equivalent units. That’s a significant drop compared to Bronsolino’s Mr. Wonderful, which debuted at #7 following its release in March 2015. His major label debut moved 48,540 total album equivalent units during its first week on the charts. DX reviewed the album here.
