Mary J. Blige has finally manifested the love she believes she deserves and couldn’t wait to share the happy news with her fans.
The Queen of Hip Hop Soul quietly made the announcement while speaking to CBS Mornings on Tuesday (March 6). While promoting her upcoming Strength of a Woman Summit, Blige revealed that she’s now relishing in the good relationship she has after going through it with her ex-husband, Martin “Kendu” Isaacs.

“I am in love. I believe I deserve a good relationship,” she said. “With myself. With a partner. When you believe it, it comes to you.
“I’m able to be my own company because I believe in love for myself, I’m not going to give up on love. I’m not going to let a bad relationship or a bad marriage stop me from having a good life and having romance and getting the hugs that I want and the desire and kisses.”

Blige and Issacs were married in 2003. At the time, Issacs had two sons — Nas and Jordan — with his first wife, and a daughter named Briana Latrise from a previous relationship.
In July 2016, Blige filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

Mary J. Blige and Kendu Isaacs finalized their divorce in June 2018, and in November of that same year, Isaac’s daughter Briana exploded on her father on social media, accusing him of choosing his women — including Mary J. Blige — over her.
“Legit only have 3 pictures of us together … I honestly made EVERY excuse for you,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “Every single one….But the reality is….YOU’RE garbage. Raven told me to stop fucking with you, my mom said it, just about every friend I ever had…Because dealing with you in any capacity leaves me broken. You put pussies and paper before your own fucking child! But invite me around for appearances and shit, right? Lol. Ur a bum!”
Briana went on to describe her father as a “fuck n-gga” and accused him of treating her like an assistant.
“I LITERALLY do not have the support of a family and at this point I wouldn’t want it anyway cause I don’t trust you people. N-ggas in the street ALWAYS treated me better. I got left in the woods with the wolves but I didn’t fucking die so expected some ptsd and some feral tendencies.”

Briana also claimed she would be even crazier if she didn’t have a son.
“You’re lucky….Just know that,” she concluded. “Before the grandson you avoid, I wouldn’t have been this calm. I hope that when you sleep tonight…And every night….
