HipHopDX Premiere: The phrase “be well” is technically defined as “to be healthy and “feel good,” or a “culturally relevant piece of art that touches upon multiple levels of the human experience.”
“I aimed to create an enjoyable album that touches on a varying array of topics such as police brutality, racial profiling, well being, good times and the overall black male urban experience,” BLAX explains to HipHopDX. “Music today is full of messages that are detrimental to the listeners and the music’s culture. My intention with the ‘Be Well’ listening experience is to create meaningful music with a message that is easily digestible.”
As part of the coming-of-age album, BLAX details the life and times from the streets perspective, and easily provides a brief glimpse inside the mind of man existing on the brink. According to BLAX, Be Well is dedicated to the inner cities all across the globe, struggling people and the balancing act required to maintain in today’s ever-evolving world.
