HipHopDX Premiere: According to the Toronto-based collective BBRC — MC Roshin, songwriter Arowbe, and creative director/rapper/producer Bronze — their music is best described as a combination of “80s Def Jam intensity, with smoothed out New Jack Swing, and a jiggy sensibility worthy of Hype Williams’ wardrobe department,” which explodes into a “vibe that mostly sounds like a bunch of guys having fun rhyming in a basement.”

To prove their point, the trio has rolled through with a new video for “G X D,” which revisits the old ’90s teen drama, 90210, for inspiration. Billed as a “Karaoke Video,” the playful visual puts not only their rhyming prowess on display, but also their senses of humor. BBRC plans on releasing its debut album, aptly titled The Peach Pit, later this year. Watch the video above.
