HipHopDX Premiere: Although Los Angeles-based MC Koncept is currently overseas in Korea, that doesn’t mean his musical output has stopped. In fact, it’s stronger than ever. His latest video, “Hug Someone” finds him standing in the streets of Hongdae in Seoul, Korea with a sign that reads: “Hug Me.”

“In a time in the world where there’s a lot of trouble with the presidency and power, stress in the economy, healthcare changes, worry about war, depression, suicide, and many other hardships, I felt the need to make music that was uplifting,” Koncept explains to HipHopDX. “As simple as it is, sometimes people can really use a hug; a hug to let them know that you’re thinking about them, and that you care; a sign of warmth and comfort; that we are together in this.

Directed by Fantastic A.J., the video exudes the compassion and energy of a hug, which not only goes a long way, but can also brings smiles to faces and hearts. Produced by Optiks, the track comes from his forthcoming album the New York native is releasing with Sony Music Asia in June.
