HipHopDX Premiere: Taken from his debut album, Flowers and Planes,Tuki Carter’s “Make A Way” has been given its own steamy visual to bring the thoughtful track to life and put Carter’s tattooing skills prominently on display. The song itself is a departure from the Taylor Gang affiliate’s typical sound and finds a more introspective rapper describing how he tackles life’s obstacles.

Despite being a single father, Tuki has been excelling in tattooing, rapping and entrepreneurship. He’s also an active member of his community in Atlanta as the owner and chief artist for City of Ink, a successful chain of tattoo parlors.

“[The album] is a lifestyle that includes music, tattooing, art, and just being great at what you do no matter the obstacles set in the way,” he said in a press release. “It’s my first studio album and I’m a lil’ nervous, but the other part of the flowers and planes movement, which is weed, helps me with it all. Get it? Flowers [weed] and planes [paper]. I’m ready for the world to see what’s been in my head for the past few years and some change—including art and other things I’m about lifestyle-wise. Hella positivity.”
